Great idea. Great shot.
What’s the surface the cigarette is on? How did you go about taking this shot? Just curious about how it was done Cheers, Richard
For this shot I have used a black back and just one flash unit (with barn doors) behind the cigarette at 45 degrees more or less. The cigarette was in a black ashtray (erased with photoshop), then I’ve duplicated, inverted and degraded the layer to create the reflection.
One friend works with a black methacrylate to produce this reflections…
That’s all! Thanks for your comments.
Thanks for the explanation Joan… much appreciated. I couldn’t decide if this was a “straight shot” or if there was some behind-the-scene magic going on somewhere
I love how you left the cigarette in the frame and added the reflection though. Gives it that extra dimension you hardly ever see with smoke photography. Very nice!
I took a stab at smoke photography myself a week or two ago, quite fun.
The Photoshopping of the reflection aside, I am impressed with your lighting of the cigarette… and the look of the smoke is exquisite. Really nicely done.
what’s a beautiful imagination
Great idea. Great shot.
